It was a very special Valentines Day
for Amanda Leigh Morey. On February 14, 2003, 11 ½ year old Amanda was a
Junior Maid-of-Honor at her father's, James Morey, marriage to Darlene McGuirk.
Amanda was diagnosed with Infantile
(Nephropathic) Cystinosis at 9 months old. Amanda is a beautiful loving child
who sees only the good in everyone and everything. Her spiritual lust for life
is a lesson everyone she comes in contact with walks away with. Her biggest
attribute is her wonderful sincere feeling of love, which leaves everyone with
a special feeling of warmth in their hearts.
Amanda's dad and new wife requested that
in lieu of personal wedding gifts, a donation in honor of Amanda be made to the
Cystinosis Foundation. To date, they've received close to $6,000 in donations
and are very pleased with their family and friends generosity.
To quote James and Darlene, "Amanda is
their world".
