The
Naíonra (pronounced "Neenrah") where Cian Ó Cathasaigh attends
(It's like a Playschool / Kindergarten) hold an Annual "Cake Sale". The
children make Chocolate covered Rice-Krispie or Cornflake cakes and sell them
to all the Parents. This year the Naíonra are donating the proceeds to
Cystinosis Research!
There will be an
"Official" Presentation of the proceeds made to Cian in a week, at a
"Coffee-Morning" in the Naíonra, where the Local Newspaper will be
present to do an article on this wonderful fund-raising event!
The "Krispie-Buns" Cake-Sale was held on
March 12th at the Naíonra in Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland. Cian Ó
Cathasaigh & all his Playschool friends (with the "unofficial" help from
Cian's little brother, Ailbhe (also with Cystinosis), who ate more than he
helped sell!) had a great time & enjoyed taking money from all the
grown-ups as they proudly sold their cakes to them. Each Krispie-Bun was priced
at 5c each and MANY cakes were sold! The children raised a whopping EURO
297.63 in aid of Cystinosis Research!
Our heartfelt thanks go to the teachers
who organised the Cake-Sale, all the children, who worked so hard and for the
generosity of their parents in making the day a great success!
