The Cystinosis Foundation, New Jersey Chapter held its 16th Annual Dinner/Dance March 18, at the Cameo in Garfield, New Jersey. The event was a resounding success, with 350 in attendance. Music was provided by Desiderio Music. Desiserio excels in Italian/American/Latin music. . Members of the band are dedicated to helping in the quest for research funds and provide the evening of music free of charge.

Laura Chichelo was Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening Federico and Giuseppina Taurozzi received the Humanitarian Award for 2,000. Mr. and Mrs. Taurozzi have been supporters since the inception of the New Jersey Foundation.

Gerardina Lotrecchiano, Laura Chichelo, Enza Marzullo and Maria Turano received awards for their dedicated service The women have been devoted volunteers since they were teenagers. Also, receiving Awards, were Rev. Msgr. Emmanuel M. Capozzelli, President Emeritus. Msgr. Capozzelli also serves on the Board of the Cystinosis Foundation.Current President, Gaetano DiBenedetto was the recepient of an Award. Mr. DiBenedetto has also been with the New Jersey Chapter since its beginning.

Jerry De Benedetto was the recepient of the" Heart of Gold Award." from the Cystinosis Foundation. Mr. Di Benedetto has been active in numerous clubs, but his great devotion has been to the individuals with cystinosis.
